Dr. Alicia Partnoy is a Professor at Loyola Marymount University. Her works include: The Little School. Tales of Disappearance and Survival in Argentina; You Can't Drown the Fire: Latin American Women Writing in Exile; and The Discourse of Solidarity in Testimonal: 'Poemarios' from Argentina.

Sister Dianna Ortiz, "Torture in the 21st Century: Are You Safe in America?"

Sponsored by the Life Cycle Institute and the Latin American and Latino Studies Program

Sister Dianna Ortiz is the Director of the Torture Abolition and Survival Support Coalition and the author of The Blindfold's Eyes: My Journey from Torture to Truth. She was a torture victim under Guatemala's military regime and forced the Clinton administration to reveal CIA ties to the regime and its torturers.
