Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS) is a multidisciplinary program focused on the appreciation and understanding of the Hispanic experience in the Americas. The program draws on the expertise of scholars at CUA in the fields of anthropology, arts, economics, history, modern languages, medieval studies, music, political science, sociology, and social work. It also draws on the rich resources of the Oliveira Lima library and University Archives, as well as existing programs in Hispanic Ministry and Hispanic Pastoral Leadership in the School of Theology and Religious Studies, the Latin American Center for Graduate Studies in Music in the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, and social science research at the Life Cycle Institute. LALS currently offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate minor.
